The Konnett speaker system was purchased for the features that suited us best. It was used for one month before it stopped working. It would not read the iPhone or the iPod. We are in the process now of trying to exchanging it.

I requested this as a Christmas gift. From the reviews I read this seemed like a great portable unit with good sound quality. After I plugged it in and started to use it, I was surprised by the sound for such a slim unit. This was really thin and seemed like a great portable device. HOWEVER, there are certain things, in retrospect, that I now dislike about this unit.
First thing is that it is cheaply constructed. I accidentally dropped the AC adapter on the floor (from a seated height) and the casing came apart. I then had to keep it together with a rubber band. Then after less than a month of use, it shorted out and any audio ceased. The unit would still turn on, but no sound from the FM receiver or iPhone. I decided to return the unit and not order a replacement. I ordered a similarly priced portable unit from Altec Lansing and OMG, the difference is sound quality is night and day! After listening to the other unit, I realized that the KONNET player’s sound quality was so sub par for the price that it sells for. If this item was half the price I would say it would be worth purchasing, but definitely not for the current MSRP.
All in all, I would not recommend this unit.

This device is poorly designed. Good if you want to be picking it up when it falls over every 20 seconds. I couldn’t put my ipod in it, but the radio sounded horrible. Not the one for me, and definitely not what I was expecting for the money I paid.

A sleek, compact unit, with a fair share of class. WHAT’S USEFUL TO KNOW:
, Change FM stations, etc.
(1) When the unit is plugged in with the included power supply, it WILL charge an iPhone 3GS, iPod, iPod Nano, etc.
(2) The required 6 AAA batteries (not included) will retain the unit’s memory (24 hour time clock ONLY), up to 20 FM stations, alarm settings, etc., but will NOT charge “iThings”
(3) The unit I purchased will accept my iPhone without the need of removing my protective case.
(4) When mounted, the phone COVERS half of the digital time display…if you need to know what time it is, remove the iPhone. (On the other hand, an iPod does NOT block the display.)
(5) When I plug in my iPhone, a message pops up: “This accessory is not designed to work with iPhone. Would you like to switch to Airport mode?” Simply select “NO”; the 3GS iPhone WILL still receive calls while plugged.
(6) The “Booming Lite” comes with a small remote (1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″), used to set Time, Alarm, Sleep, Snooze (if you can find it in the dark
(7) Alarm function choices: Beeping, FM Radio OR iTunes.
If you want a 1/2″ thick, fold-up, easily “briefcaseable” FM receiver / iPhone / iPod charger with sound that’s “acceptable,” this unit may be a great choice!
(It has an ‘EQ’ function, which essentially states, “Press the EQ button to select equalizer (Rock/Classic/Jazz/Pop/Bass)”: and there is NO display, one has to “Do it by ear…,”), but hey, for the price, OK for travelers in need of charging and wake-ups.
